Steps a new cat parent can take to make sure the transition is smooth.

Getting a new kitten is a wonderful life-changing decision! So what should you consider before you bring your new, little furry.

baby home? I’m glad you asked…

Litter box
You’ll want one litter box per floor. Make sure it’s almost twice the size of your cat, and be sure not to move it around.

Keep it easy to find and private. Fill your cat’s litter box with about an inch-and-a-half of natural clay

or clumping litter and be ready to try different litters until you find one your cat prefers.

You’ll want to scoop twice daily and change the litter thoroughly every week. And remember never to touch

or disrupt your cat while using the litter box.

Bedding:

Make sure the bedding is comfy and washable. A small box in a sunny corner will be puurrrrrfect.

Toys:

Having a toy or two ready to go will make your new kitten feel at home.

ID:

Keeping your cat well-identified is very important. Make sure the collar isn’t too tight with a two-finger space all around.
